Alpiq E-Mobility AG supports Mitsubishi Schweiz AG in expanding quick charging infrastructure for electric vehicles

Alpiq E-Mobility AG and Mitsubishi Schweiz AG have chosen to strengthen their successful partnership. Alpiq E-Mobility will manage the planning, installation and commissioning of Mitsubishi's network of EVite quick charging stations.

At the end of October 2013, Alpiq E-Mobility installed an EVite quick charging station for Mitsubishi at its headquarters in Härkingen, Switzerland. The 20 kW quick charging stations developed and built by Alpiq/EVTEC allow the battery of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV or the new Outlander PHEV with plug-in hybrid drive to be charged in around 20-40 minutes.

As part of the collaboration, the first 100 buyers of the electrically driven Outlander will receive a voucher for a free 'home check' worth CHF 390. During the check, Alpiq E-Mobility will visit the customer's home or office and work out the best charging solution as well as the associated costs.

Since the launch of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV in 2010, Alpiq E-Mobility as the national partner of Mitsubishi Schweiz AG has been responsible for the charging infrastructure, providing consultancy and implementation, developing the Home Charge Device (HCD) and helping to expand the EVite quick charging network.

The EVite project, led by the Mobility Academy, a subsidiary of Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) with various national partners, aims to expand the quick charging network to 80 stations throughout Switzerland by 2014.
