Further growth in Energy Services in Italy
With effect from 27 March 2009, the Atel Installationstechnik AG (AIT), which is based in Zurich and belongs to the Alpiq Group, has acquired the Italian company Rossetto Impianti SpA. The transaction has already been approved by the responsible authorities. The parties have agreed to maintain silence about the purchase price.
Rossetto is a specialist for mechanical systems engineering in the industrial, services and hospital sectors. Additionally, the company possesses experience in the planning, implementation, maintenance and management of energy generating systems and unit heating power stations. These systems use natural gas, biodiesel, biogas and biomass energy as the primary energy source. For the previous owner of Rossetto, AIT is the ideal partner to ensure the continuity, growth and development of the company in the future.
Merger will be completed before the end of June 2009
For AIT the acquisition of Rossetto, with a work force of 70 employees and an annual turnover of CHF 28 million (euro 18 million), is an ideal extension of the existing activities in the north Italian market.
The purchase of Rossetto represents for AIT an expansion of the services portfolio of the AIT subsidiary Atel Antonini SpA. Atel Antonini is a company that has belonged to the AIT Group since the take over of the Verona company Antonini at the beginning of 2008. It plays a leading role in the planning, implementation, servicing and maintenance of electrical systems in Italy.
Thanks to the joining of the two companies, which will take place before the end of June 2009 in form of a merger, the Italian market will be able to count on a single technical contact partner from the AIT side. This will result in many benefits for the customers with respect to quality, organisation, planning and coordination of the business activities. This has already been proven by the success achieved by Atel Sesti SpA in Milan.
With an annual turnover in excess of CHF 750 million and a work force of more than 3500, the AIT Group belongs to the market leaders in Energy Services both in Switzerland and Italy.
